Comments and Description:
Model 41 Target pistol made in the mid 60s (5 digit sn ending with 00) and is very unique. It has a 4-1/2" barrel which was never a catalogued barrel as the 5" field model and 5-1/2" target model were the shortest barrels ever listed or sale. This gun could have been produced by a gunsmith in the factory as a personal gun which their employees could do for their own guns, or it could have been a professionally shortened 5-1/2" model shortened after it was sold. A Jinks letter has not been submitted on this gun, so where it was modified remains a mystery. It is a shooter for my collection with 3 magazines and an a 60s era leather dual mag hollder. This bluing condition on the gun is not pristine, considering its age and use over the years, but original and no scratches etc. One of the grip panels has a small piece chipped away from the very bottom, which was common with these original grips. Accuracy is far better than 95% of the shooters out their can muster and has been confirmed by a young marksman extroaordiare that has eagle eyes unlike my 60 yr old bionic eyes. He cut holes with it.
You won't find another like this one and it could nake a nice shootable and collectible additon to your safe.
