Break out your boots!October 29, 2007
... But we're heading into winter nonetheless -- so break out your boots!
Designers are offering fabulous new designs this year. And, of course, the designs are borrowed from times past.
The '80s ankle boots we so enthusiastically had our acid-wash jeans tucked into are making a grand encore. Only this time a high heel makes the boot chic. Matching the ankle or short walking boot with your minis and knee lengths looks best -- and don't forget those Madonna-style leggings and tights.
And, with a nod to the Disco Era of the '70s, the wedge and the slouch boots are universally gracing red carpets and catwalks.
Skirt suits will play an important role this season as fashion's Autumn/Winter 2007 lines deliver us from a younger, frilly and feminine look to a more sophisticated and svelte cosmopolitan woman.
A pencil slim skirt with its matched fitted or boxy-yet-trim jacket becomes vitalized with the addition of your wedges or slouches.
Not to leave out the full skirt, the wedge or slouch boots also complement a shorter pleated or full-length maxi-skirt. Complete this ensemble with a fitted jacket.
And, finally, the knee-high shiny patent or black leather biker boots flatter the "biker chick look," which is considered the new "rocker chic" this season. |
