Description
We are looking to re-home a beautiful young dog, Mazy. She is approximately 2 years old, still puppy-like, upto date on all shots and spade. We have been with her for a month. She is off and on leash trained, house and crate trained, does not bite and have only heard 2 barks from her. 48 # and full of love and joy.
She came to us from the Humane Society shy and not wanting to go up stairs to our home, get in or out of the car. She only took 3 days to get to go up the stairs to our home and a week for her to freely exit the car on her own. She still is not getting into the car on her own (I pick her up) yet once she is in the car she does fine and I have even left her in the car during grocery shopping and other errands, no problem.
She loooooves other dogs. We have spent much time at Highlands Hollow playing with other pups; she has no aggression towards other dogs.
After loosing our dog early this summer we wanted to get another one with enough time for my son to bond with her before he moves out. Mazy integrated well into the house yet with men (son and husband) she is very timid. She does not nip/bite/bark at them, she just won't let them approach her. She will take treats and when sitting on the floor she is curious with sniffs and sometimes will allow them to pet her but this is infrequent and short. While advancements have been made, they are taking too long for the amount of time the teenager is home in a day/week and, therefore, does not look possible for him to bond before he moves out.
My daughter and I are terribly sad but know this is the best decision for the family and Mazy.
