Description
I have a pure bred Llewellin Setter 10 years old and a Pure bred wirehaired pointing griffon 8.5 years old.
*The Setter is an excellent hunting dog with a great nose who points and holds points very well, after the shot has never been her strong point as she rarely retrieves the bird all the way back to the hunter as we used to hunt her with a super strong retriever and she got used to her bringing all the birds back. She could probably be trained to bring the birds back the rest of the way as she will go find them and put them in her mouth. She does really well with chukar and Pheasants and just about any other upland bird. She is super sweet and is an unbelievable family dog. The reason i am looking to rehome her is that she is getting older and we hunt very hard. She can only keep up now for about a 1/2 day chukar hunt and the boss says I have to find a home for the current dogs before i can replace with puppies.
The pointing Griffon Is an excellent family dog with great temperament, but she is gun shy and I have not pursued hunting with her since she was very young. She is super birdy and provided some very strong litters of strong hunting dogs but I have not gotten her over being gun shy.
Both dogs must go to the same home as I would hate to see them broken apart. They currently do everything together. They are not inside and are outside dogs. When they do come in the house the will just lay on a towel and hang out. Both have been raised around kids and love people. Please txt me for more information at 208-403-8423
