Nice Ethan Allen 22 short revolver in a nice wood presentation case. Allen & Wheelock Side Hammer .22 Rimfire Revolver, made from 1858-1865. A total of 8 distinct “issues” or models can be found, and only about 1,500 were made, all models combined, making this a very interesting and affordable area for collectors. Production was almost certainly affected by the patent infringement that took place to make this piece. Smith & Wesson owned the rights to Rollin White’s infamous patent for a bored through cylinder, allowing the use of That averages out to less than 200 examples ever made for each issue.
