These guys are ready for new homes!! They've been constantly around the kids and can't wait for their own family. Kangal/Akbash are both derived from Turkey as Livestock guardians. They are extremely weather hardy, preferring the cold for sure. They do not bark incessantly, only when they've cornered prey. You do not have to worry about raccoons, possums, coyotes, or even wolves once these guys reach maturity. They will stand their ground and protect their home and stock. I was losing birds left and right until we got our male. And then, at 6 months old he saved a newborn kid from a negligent mom who dropped him and walked away. Moose cleaned the baby off and laid with it until we found them in the morning. It's pure instincts for these dogs to know who is under protection and who needs to be gone. Whenever my own children are outside playing he is right there napping alongside them, keeping watch still. They're just amazing. If you know the breed, then you know. Kangal especially, are the most amazing dogs. They're extremely smart, but not stubborn like some breeds. They will do their job without needing you, but they still love to be appreciated and cuddled. You have to be careful not to discipline too hard even, because they are smart enough to have a lot of emotional awareness and they can take it very strongly. Please consider these pups if you have the right need and home for them. They are so incredible, you just don't know until you know.
