A Japanese officer dirk, also known as a naval dirk or kaiken is a ceremonial dagger issue to commissioned officer in the Imperial Japanese Navy starting in the 1880s. My grandfather brought this back from his tour in the Pacific during WWII. From pictures online the condition looks to be good or great, and this knife has not been refurbished to my knowledge.
