Seller's Comments and Description:

I am selling my restored Mossberg 43S that I inherited from my father, who got it from his father about 60 years ago. I’ve had it restored by a gunsmith who told me that the 43S signifies that it was a Spiegel catalog company item. He went on to say that the catalog ordered 200 in 1943 and after selling 11, they sold the rest to the US Army for training. He had to get replacement parts from the 1945 and 1946 models because they are the same and parts for the 1943 that were not available. There is a fellow in Oklahoma who was a collector and had 6 of these 43S models and doesn’t collect anymore. There was a crack in the stock that the gunsmith repaired. This model has the heavy barrel and shoots straight and true. Has an extra magazine and I added a Lyman peep sight. I have about $350 in the gun and will sell it for that much plus shipping to your LLC gun shop
